how does leasing a horse / pony at countryside equestrian centre work?
When leasing a horse, you are paying a set monthly fee for the ability and privilege of additional riding time on that particular horse.
In many ways, leasing a horse is similar to owning a horse, albeit with fewer financial responsibilities. Leasing is a great step towards eventual horse ownership and learning everything that goes into caring for horses.
half lease
Provides you with the ability to ride the horse you are leasing 3 certain days (which suit you best) of the week.
This is based on a month-to-month contract which can be terminated at any time from either party with a full Calendar month's notice.
The lease will be shared with either the owner of the horse/pony or another half-lease party.
all inclusive
The set monthly fee includes all fees (use of tack for said horse, arenas and the General care and Veterinary Care of the horse which includes a hospital policy in the unfortunate event the horse should fall ill).
No Hidden Fees - but you can of course buy your own numnahs, boots or whatever your heart desires as well as extra treats for your lease!
note
When leasing a horse / pony at Countryside Equestrian Centre we urge our riders to continue to learn and grow. For this reason our lease contracts require 1 lesson per week from any of our CEC instructors to ensure you are on the right track with your noble steed.
(The riding lesson fee is not included in the lease as our instructors work on a commission only basis.)
perks
You can constantly ride your lease horse during lessons.
Especially if you are pursuing riding lessons on a serious level and you are ready to truly excel in the sport. It is highly beneficial to lease a horse with whom you can develop a relationship.
other perks
If the horse / pony you are leasing should be ill or lame, you will be given the option of another horse / pony to substitute whilst your lease is recovering.
Many owners don't extend this courtesy to lessors but we do!
shows & sanesa
Riders wanting to partake at 'away from home' shows and SANESA events are advised to half-lease the horse/pony they want to compete on. This gives you extra time in the saddle to practice and get to know the steed better before having to go out to an event.
